in a country of 128 million, i find it amazing that there has not been one case of looting reported.  the shelters are organized (even recycling) and the people remain calm, patient and helpful.  the government won't have to enforce rolling blackouts, because the survivors have voluntarily given up the use of unnecessary power.  communities are staying together and even offering food to visiting journalists!  i saw just this morning that a 4 month old baby was found alive and well yesterday which gives hope for others...the japanese have always shown such remarkable strength and honor and i continue to hold them in high esteem.

what would we do in the face of such calamity?
