happy halloween weekend.

i love the teacher's expression.

one of my favourite electronic musicians, apparat, has amazed me once again with his latest release.  i have been a little obsessed with it actually.  he's put together a band, and his style has taken a more acoustic feel.  in an interview, he stated that he has loved making electronic music, but hated that it was 100 per cent in the computer.  if a board was wiped out, he lost everything.  this album plays beautifully on piano- pure at the roots.  i love that.  he's spot on musically and i would love for him to really be successful.  he doesn't take himself too seriously, which i always appreciate in a musician.  i know i have no chance of his ever touring the us, but i can still hope...

here is one of many of my favourite tracks featuring the brilliant soap&skin.  grab some headphones and listen to the end.

everyone has always talked about fall and all of the glorious layers, orange vegetables and snuggling.  to be honest, i've never even given it a second thought.  the year has always just run together for me.  don't get me wrong- holidays are always appreciated, but the seasonal changes have gone quite over my head...until now.  maybe it's because i've become a mother.  maybe my cynicism is slowly dying.   maybe it's because i live in texas.  whatever the reason, with each new season this year i have been thoughtful and aware and have embraced each one with renewed energy and hope...and i'm thankful for that.

so, enjoy these coming days.  make some "end of the year" resolutions.  visit a pumpkin patch...just enjoy.
